Software Developer (Hybrid Remote)

We’re looking for a skilled Software Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will focus on developing and integrating software with applications hosted in secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have experience building data-driven applications and a passion for developing tools that empower users to model, simulate, and analyze complex systems. This role blends backend simulation integration, data interoperability, and frontend visualization-contributing to a powerful tool for system thinkers, engineers, and scientists. Experience with modeling and simulation is highly valued, but not required-we care most about strong programing skills (Java and C++) and problem-solving ability., * Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ and Java-based applications

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define requirements
• Debug, optimize, and improve existing systems
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
• (Optional/Preferred) Develop or support modeling, simulation, or analytical workflows
• Reverse engineer solutions based on existgin code

Do you have experience in Version control systems?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * Strong proficiency in Java and/ or C++

• Experience with software development best practices (version control, testing, code reviews)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to “figure it out” when information (documentation, requirements, instructions) is unclear.
• Secret security clearance.
• 5+ years of software engineering or development experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or software engineering.
• Ability to come on site if needed in the Reston, VA area., * Experience with modeling and simulation (e.g., scientific computing, numerical methods, system modeling)
• Familiarity with AFSIM modeling language
• Experience with simulation frameworks, digital twins, or analytical models
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, and microservice architecture
• Experience in engineering, scientific, financial, or data-driven domains, * Do you have a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in software engineering or computer science?

Experience:

• JAVA and or C++: 5 years (Required)
• Modeling & Simulation: 1 year (Required)
