Job description

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting food safety and quality programs within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with quality standards by maintaining accurate records, performing inspections, conducting laboratory tests, and monitoring production processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting.

Key ResponsibilitiesDocumentation & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain and update quality and food safety records, including:
  • Raw Material Records
  • Daily Sanitation Records
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Documentation
  • Critical Control Point (CCP) Records
  • Pest Control Records
  • Metal Detection Records
  • Daily Labeling Logs
  • Pasteurizer Temperature Records

Quality Inspections

  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections of production areas and equipment.
  • Conduct environmental swabbing and sanitation verification activities.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Testing & Analysis

  • Perform sensory evaluations of finished products, including appearance, odor, texture, and taste assessments.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance laboratory testing, including:
  • pH Analysis
  • Water Activity Testing
  • Titrations
  • Other quality control tests as required
  • Record and interpret test results accurately.

Compliance & Auditing

  • Audit product specifications and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with company quality standards, food safety regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Report quality concerns and assist in corrective actions when necessary.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Time management?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred.

  • Less than one year of relevant experience required; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to accurately maintain records and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and laboratory testing procedures is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Regular exposure to cold-temperature production and storage areas.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspections throughout the workday.
  • Compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
