Job description
Catalog Intelligent Solutions is responsible for turning Walmartâs product data into practical âintelligenceâ that powers how we buy, move, and present items at scale. We sit between Merchandising, Supply Chain, Compliance, and Technology, designing shared services and platforms that multiple products and platforms rely on. Within this group, this role shapes the common decision platforms that teams across Walmart use to turn their rules and models into standardized item-level classifications and actions.
What youâll doâŚ
-
Serve as a key point of connection between stakeholder teams (e.g., supply chain, stores, merchandising) and internal build teams (Catalog engineering, data partners, innovation pods).
-
Translate stakeholder problems into clear solution shapes: what needs to exist, what âgoodâ looks like, what must be true for adoption, and what we will measure.
-
Shape a strategy for how Catalog solutions should be built and delivered across multiple efforts-so the portfolio moves in one direction and produces reusable outcomes.
-
Drive value realization: define success measures up front (coverage, quality, adoption, and business impact) and ensure teams can show progress with credible metrics.
-
Identify where overlapping efforts are creating duplicated work or conflicting outputs; drive alignment and a practical path to a single approach.
-
Communicate progress to leadership in a decision-ready way: whatâs working, whatâs at risk, what tradeoffs exist, and what decisions are needed.
Youâll sweep us off our feet if youâŚ
-
Have led cross-functional work where success required both building the right thing and getting it adopted.
-
Can take ambiguous stakeholder needs and turn them into clear requirements, success measures, and an executable plan.
-
Are comfortable operating across internal builders and external stakeholders-and can keep everyone aligned without relying on org-chart authority.
Requirements
-
Have strong analytical instincts and can define metrics that hold up in an exec review (not vanity metrics).
-
Can tell a crisp story: what we built, why it matters, what changed, and whatâs next.
-
Have enough technical fluency to pressure-test assumptions and edge cases, even if youâre not writing production code.
Preferred qualifications
-
Experience with large-scale product, catalog, or operational data.
-
Experience in supply chain, stores, transportation, trade, compliance-adjacent programs, or other operational domains where data quality and consistency matter.
