Job description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the operational integrity of data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise will help facilitate seamless network connectivity, hardware functionality, and telecommunication systems vital to our clients’ digital operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment where your skills directly impact business success., * Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and VoIP systems to ensure continuous connectivity.
- Perform fiber splicing and cabling tasks using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to maintain high-quality connections.
- Conduct routine inspections of data center hardware, electrical systems, and low voltage wiring following schematics and technical manuals.
- Support field service activities by diagnosing issues with computer hardware, telecommunication systems, and power supplies; perform equipment repairs as needed.
- Manage cable management tasks including Cat5, Cat6, Ethernet wiring, and telephony cabling (Avaya), ensuring compliance with NEC standards.
- Utilize CCTV systems for surveillance monitoring; respond promptly to security alerts or anomalies.
- Assist with network installation projects involving LAN setup, fiber optic splicing, and configuration of Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to document system configurations, update schematics, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Hand tools?, * Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet protocols, and network security fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and cabling standards such as Cat5 and Cat6 wiring.
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems like Avaya, and related telecommunication hardware.
- Familiarity with schematics reading for electrical wiring, low voltage systems, and telephony infrastructure.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other technical equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in data centers or similar environments with a focus on equipment repair, electrical safety standards (NEC), and low voltage systems.
