Job description

As a Building Automation Systems Designer, you will play a pivotal role in engineering high-performance control solutions that optimize HVAC operations and energy efficiency. You will leverage your technical expertise in AutoCAD and control protocols to transform complex project requirements into functional, reliable system architectures that drive building performance. Responsibilities

  • Architect comprehensive BAS submittal packages, including detailed riser diagrams, network architecture, and point-to-point wiring schematics.
  • Interpret contract documents and specifications to select optimal equipment and design effective Sequences of Operations (SOO).
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio to produce accurate, professional engineering documentation and design tools.
  • Manage the full project design lifecycle, including bill of material generation, load calculations, and labor forecasting to meet budgetary goals.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve design discrepancies through the generation of Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Integrate diverse control systems using protocols such as BACnet MSTP/IP, Modbus, and LonWorks to ensure seamless interoperability.
  • Provide technical support for service engineering and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Project timeline management?, * Proven experience in HVAC system design, including unitary equipment, hydronic systems, and central plant operations.

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting software for building automation.
  • Strong understanding of control theory and the ability to interpret complex project specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines and design budgets independently., * Extensive experience with the Tridium/Niagara framework and associated programming tools.
  • Background in both initial system design and ongoing service-based support for installed systems.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining technical libraries or best practices for engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of proposing cost-effective, high-value technical solutions for commercial projects.
