Job description
The Design Engineer delivers in-house civil design packages that support safe, compliant transportation and drainage projects for the community. This position ensures plans and technical documentation align with TxDOT, municipal, and standard design practices.
Key responsibilities include preparing drainage studies; developing roadway, pavement, and bridge designs; producing complex technical reports; and coordinating design inputs with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure role?, * Practical construction experience across diverse civil projects; supervisory/managerial decision-making experience preferred
- Experience supervising engineers and/or construction inspectors
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Modeler, and Civil 3D
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Professional English communication (read/write/speak); Spanish-English bilingual skills may be required
- Above-average customer service; able to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy
