Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Client is in the process of implementing Oracle Financials suite of applications including GL, AP, PO, AR, FA, LD, Accounting and Projects. Oracle applications are extended using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Flexfields, Oracle Workflow, and Web technologies. The Oracle Financial Applications Developer will be a key member of the project team supporting current production system, upgrading the current system to the Oracle R11i, re-building current system functionality in Oracle R11i, and deploying additional modules from the Oracle Financials suite of GL, AP, PO, AR, FA, LD Grants Accounting and Projects.Analyze and understand the current implementation of the Oracle GL and its custom subsidiary ledgers and how they meet the Clients requirements. Evaluate standard functionality of the Oracle Financials suite of applications, provide innovative means to meet clients functional requirements using standard Oracle functionality. Re-design and re-build functionality provided by customizations using Oracle Flexfields and Oracle Workflow. Utilize Oracle development tools including, Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Flexfields and Workflow to modify and extend Oracle R11i applications. Understand and operate in an environment with formal version control, migration tools and standards. Analyze, design and develop Report Marts to meet reporting needs.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. or B.S. degree in CS, IT, IS or related field. One to three years experience in business applications development or work in related field (i.e., Accounting, Information Systems).Formal training in Finance or Accounting and the ability to learn financial applications is required. This ability is critical in understanding and working with Oracle Financial Applications (GL, AP, PO, AR, FA, LD, Grants Accounting and Projects). Knowledge of Oracle databases and Oracle tools, including Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Flexfields and Workflow is helpful.Knowledge of software development life cycle, including the ability to define and create specifications, data and function models, systems design and development. Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving capabilities to understand standard functionality of the Oracle financial applications, and to implement them so that they are modifiable and extensible. Experience working with people at multiple levels of the IT organization as well as the user community. Good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Report Mart methods and techniques is desirable.
