Oracle Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Oracle Developer will provide technical leadership for the implementation and support of an Oracle Fixed Assets system extended using PL/SQL, Developer 2000 Forms 4.5, Reports 2.5, and Web technologies & tools (Brio). The Senior Oracle Developer will be an expert in aspects of the Oracle technologies related to Oracle applications, develop enhancements for the system, provide technical direction for other tech Oracle developers, and play key role in upgrading the system to Oracle Fixed Assets. Duties include working as a senior developer for the upgrade and maintenance for the Fixed Asset application. This includes programming using PL/SQL, fully using all features of the Oracle data base, date modeling and design of tables, and enhancing & supporting the Oracle based application. Function as the tech lead for projects using expert level experience with Oracle applications. Gather and analyze complex business requirements and use knowledge of Oracle applications and emerging technologies to propose and implement solutions. Understand the architecture, design, and functionality of Oracle Financials (Fixed Assets and General Ledger applications), Smart Client interface, and Oracle Developer. Integrate vendor-provided systems with locally developed systems. Work with Oracle technical support resources to resolve Oracle bugs and other issues. Understand and solve complex problems, present ideas clearly, and troubleshoot across all phases of the development life cycle. Share knowledge and train team members on proficient use of Oracle development tool set products. Maintain current, high level of tech expertise across Oracle development products.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. At least 3 years of technical experience in all aspects of the Oracle technology related to Oracle applications. At least 2 years in an Oracle technology role on a large project team, with some project lead or mentoring responsibilities for other technical staff. Two years of hands-on experience using Oracle developer tools, including Developer/2000 (Forms 4.5 and Reports 2.5) with advanced, expert level PL/SQL programming skills. Proven skills in design using Oracle database and data modeling. Must have strong conceptual skills to analyze complex functions, procedures and problems to find creative, logical, and effective solutions. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral form, across organizational levels and varying levels of technical expertise. Demonstrated ability to work as a productive, self-motivated member of a team to accomplish project goals, working with internal staff as well as consultants and vendors. Must be flexible and able to work with changing requirements and priorities. Experience with Oracle applications is required and experience with Oracle Fixed Assets or GL application is highly desired.
