About the Role: We are seeking a CAD & Design Systems Manager to support the delivery of large-scale mission-critical and data center infrastructure projects across North America. This role will lead the development and management of engineering standards, design systems, CAD libraries, and automation tools that support complex controls, automation, and critical facility environments. As our engineering organization continues to grow, this individual will play a key role in improving design quality, increasing engineering efficiency, and building scalable systems that support high-performance project delivery. What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain CAD standards, templates, libraries, and engineering workflows
- Standardize control schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and construction documentation
- Lead design automation initiatives using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Python, AutoLISP, and related technologies
- Develop tools and processes that reduce engineering effort and improve project execution
- Support QA/QC programs to ensure consistent, high-quality engineering deliverables
- Manage engineering file structures, version control, and design data environments
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to improve design efficiency and scalability
- Support BIM/VDC coordination efforts on complex mission-critical construction projects
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance engineering productivity and project delivery
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in CAD management, engineering systems, design technology, or a related field
- Advanced AutoCAD experience
- Strong Bluebeam experience
- Experience developing CAD standards, design libraries, and engineering workflows
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control systems, or construction documentation
- Experience with design automation, scripting, or workflow development (Python, AutoLISP, VBA, .NET, etc.)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Industrial Automation or PLC-based systems
- Mission-critical or data center projects
- MEP engineering or controls integration
- Revit, BIM, and VDC coordination
- Engineering support for hyperscale, colocation, semiconductor, or other critical infrastructure facilities
