Job description

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician II ensures products meet quality and food safety standards while supporting daily production. This role performs inspections, testing, and process checks, maintains quality records, and ensures compliance with regulations. The technician works independently, helps resolve quality issues, supports audits, and guides less experienced team members. Responsibilities:

  • Check raw materials, work in progress, and finished products to make sure they meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Collect and test product samples and make sure results meet required standards.
  • Monitor key quality checks during production (such as weights, labels, and metal detection) to ensure products are consistent and compliant.
  • Keep accurate and complete records so they are ready for audits and meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify quality or food safety issues, help investigate the cause, and support corrective actions.
  • Hold and manage any product that does not meet standards and communicate issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Follow and support HACCP, GMP, and food safety programs, and suggest improvements when needed.
  • Help prepare for and support audits by organizing documents and answering questions.
  • Train and support QA Technicians I and production staff on quality and food safety procedures.
  • Work with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to improve quality and processes.
  • Track quality data, identify trends, and report ongoing issues.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation rules to support a strong food safety culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Computer literacy?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3 years of experience in food production, agriculture, manufacturing, or a similar quality role.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, and FDA or USDA regulations.
  • Experience with product testing, inspections, and recordkeeping in a production environment.
  • Ability to review data, spot trends, and help solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to help train others.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, depending on business needs.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
