Job description

We are seeking a Support Engineer 1 to provide onsite technical support, validation support, issue tracking, and client-facing engineering assistance in Raymond, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who communicates well, enjoys working directly with clients and technical teams, and is comfortable supporting testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and day-to-day engineering operations.

The Support Engineer 1 will assist with identifying, documenting, reproducing, and communicating technical issues while supporting onsite project needs. This position requires professionalism, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow structured processes in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for engineering, validation, and technical project activities
  • Assist with testing, issue reproduction, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Document defects, test results, observations, and project updates clearly and accurately
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members, client contacts, and technical stakeholders
  • Support equipment setup, tracking, basic configuration, and issue escalation
  • Follow established processes for reporting, communication, and project execution
  • Help maintain organized project notes, status updates, and support documentation
  • Escalate technical issues when additional engineering support is needed
  • Maintain a professional onsite presence and represent the company in a positive manner

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical writing?, * Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work onsite in Raymond, Ohio, 40 hours per week
  • Comfortable working with clients, engineers, and project teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document issues clearly
  • Ability to follow instructions, processes, and technical procedures
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
  • Interest in technology, engineering support, software validation, or technical troubleshooting
  • Basic computer skills and comfort working with technical systems or tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in technical support, validation, QA, testing, or engineering support
  • Experience using ticketing or issue tracking tools
  • Familiarity with software, hardware, automotive systems, embedded systems, or connected devices
  • Ability to learn new tools, processes, and technical workflows quickly

Benefits & conditions

This is a 1099 independent contractor position based onsite in Raymond, Ohio. The contractor will be expected to support onsite activities for 40 hours per week at a rate of $30 per hour.
