Requirements

Core Mainframe Expertise

Deep knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM (z/OS) Ability to understand and troubleshoot legacy code and batch jobs

Business Domain Understanding

Strong grasp of end-to-end business processes (Claims, Policy, Billing, etc.) Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Application & System Architecture Knowledge

Understanding of batch vs online processing, data flows, and system dependencies Capability to assess impact of changes across applications

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

Expertise in root cause analysis, ABEND handling, job failures, performance issues Ownership of system stability and SLA adherence

Data Analysis & Validation

Strong skills in DB2 queries, data reconciliation, and data mapping Ability to validate and analyze complex datasets across systems’
