Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Developer - Exchange Encounters & Risk Adjustment (SQL / EDM) for a top healthcare client. This role is highly hands-on with SQL Server and SSIS, focused on building and managing ETL pipelines that move SQL-based healthcare data into submission-ready formats using EDM tools. The ideal candidate has strong experience writing stored procedures, developing SSIS workflows, and using C# within SSIS for custom logic. They should understand healthcare data structures-particularly Medicare/Medicaid encounters-and be comfortable ensuring accurate data mapping, validation, and end-to-end flow across systems.

This is a highly visible role centered on transitioning encounter data processing in-house from a third-party vendor and delivering a proof-of-concept in one exchange market, with plans to scale across additional markets. It is more focused on data integration and submission workflows than cloud data warehousing, requiring close collaboration with product, business, and technical teams.

Day-to-Day:

Build and manage encounter submission files using EDM tools

Perform ETL processes to move data from SQL systems to required file formats

Collaborate with business analysts and product teams to gather and refine requirements

Work closely with architects and QA to ensure data accuracy and integrity

Participate in code versioning and deployment processes using GitLab and Jenkins

Support transition from vendor-managed to in-house solutions

Ensure proper data mapping and flow across healthcare systems

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (writing queries, building tables)

Experience with ETL development (especially straightforward data movement from SQL to flat files)

Experience using C# inside SSIS

SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) experience

Familiarity with healthcare data models, particularly encounters (Medicare/Medicaid submissions)

Experience working with EDM tools (or similar data integration platforms)

Understanding of version control systems (GitLab preferred)

Ability to understand end-to-end data flow and consequences of data changes

Strong collaboration skills across Product Managers, BAs, Developers, Architects, and QA Experience with Facets platform

Exposure to Azure Databricks / Data Lakes (future state work)

Healthcare Exchange market experience

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)

Prior experience replacing vendor-managed solutions (e.g., Inovalon)
