Job description
The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office is seeking a Fraud Analyst in the Medicaid Fraud and Patient Abuse Unit (MFPAU), a federally certified Medicaid Fraud Control Unit responsible for investigating and prosecuting statewide Medicaid provider fraud and patient abuse or neglect.
The MFPAU relies on strong analytical work to identify patterns, develop evidence, and support meaningful investigations that protect public funds and vulnerable populations. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to that mission by reviewing records, analyzing data, preparing reports, and working as part of a multidisciplinary investigative team in a public-service setting.

Examples of Work Performed
- Review intakes received by the unit.
- Review and analyze medical, financial and accounting documents to determine patterns or trends that may suggest fraudulent activities.
- Collect, sort, and analyze data including, but not limited to, Medicaid claims data.
- Create and/or compile reports, spreadsheets, and graphs documenting findings and summarizing data.
- Review Medicaid regulations and policies and apply to investigative findings.
- Serve as the unit’s evidence custodian.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Research findings presentation?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Minimum Qualifications : Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to prepare clear reports and communicate findings. The ability to function as an integral part of an investigative team and work in a group setting.
Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
