Job description
The Programming and Engagement Coordinator provides essential support to the Vice President of Communications & Programming, primarily focusing on event and program execution, marketing assistance, and administrative support. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of various GWCC initiatives, fostering member engagement, and supporting workforce development programs., Event & Program Support:
- Assist with the planning, organization, and on-site execution of all Chamber events and programming, including Signature Events (Premier Business Awards, Jingle Fest, Golf Tournament, State of the Region, Power of Women, & Christmas Parade) and Networking Events (WBC Bingo, Holidays at Busch Gardens, Business After Hours).
- Manage participant communication specifically for the Christmas Parade and Pathways2Careers.
- Support the organization and coordination of leadership and business development programs, including Pathways2Careers, ASPIRE Mentorship, and Legislative Forums.
- Maintain a network of business and community leaders for event invitations.
Communications, Outreach, & Committee Management:
- Act as a primary administrative support for GWCC committees to include drafting and sending all committee agendas, meeting reminders, and meeting minutes.
- Communicate regularly with Pathways2Careers students and their parents, providing program reminders and scholarship updates.
- Learn and eventually oversee the Pathways2Careers workforce/education program and the Education Committee.
Marketing & Creative Content:
- Work within Canva to draft and design marketing materials for events and programs.
- Provide general marketing assistance to elevate the GWCC brand across various channels.
Sponsorship & Administrative Support:
- Support event sponsorships by sharing sponsorship packages with partners.
- Provide general office support, including handling confidential matters with high discretion.
- Create sponsorship ROI reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Written communication?, * Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized with strong follow-through.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and Adobe.
- Willingness to learn and become proficient in GWCC-specific software using online tutorials.
- Ability to stand, lift, and work outdoors as needed for events.

Benefits & conditions
Hours: 24 hours per week (Primarily 3 days a week, 8:30am - 5:00pm)*
- Weekly days and hours (Ex: more weekdays with shorter hours) subject to negotiation at the discretion of the Vice President of Communications & Programming.
Note: Some event days may require occasional earlier or later shifts as needed for events.
