Job description

The Construction and Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the safe operation, installation, and maintenance of company system infrastructure and facilities, as well as emergency response within the service territory.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assists with operation and maintenance of gas pipelines and facilities
  • Maintains company equipment, facilities, and grounds (operations centers, M&R, City Gate, compressor stations, etc.)
  • Performs pipeline maintenance (leak repairs, cathodic protection, clearing rights of way, valve maintenance)
  • Operates equipment (backhoes, excavators, trenchers) with guidance and maintains daily records
  • Conducts equipment inspections (including pre/post trip)
  • Keeps company truck stocked and organized
  • Performs light maintenance on facilities/equipment
  • Assists with peak shaving processes as needed

Where you’ll be working:

  • Primarily outdoor/field work
  • Weekend and on-call rotation required
  • Exposure to noise, weather, gas, electricity

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Entry-level mechanical/industrial (trade school or tools experience)
  • License: Valid driver’s license + ability to obtain CDL within 18 months
  • Strong focus on safety
  • General knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and heavy equipment
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office) and communication skills
  • Ability to wear PPE (respirator, fall protection, etc.)
