Job description
We’re looking for a sharp, experienced Solutions Architect who thrives at the intersection of technology strategy and competitive proposal work. This isn’t a purely back-office architecture role. You’ll be a key player in winning new business, crafting compelling technical narratives, and translating complex solutions into clear, persuasive proposals that resonate with clients and evaluators alike.
You’ll partner with business development, capture, and delivery teams to shape winning strategies from the earliest stages of a pursuit through final submission and beyond into delivery.
If you want to shape how we win and not just how we deliver, this is the role for you. You’ll have a direct line of sight from strategy to solution to contract award, with real influence over the technical direction of pursuits that matter.
What You’ll Do
Proposal & Capture Leadership
- Lead technical solutioning for competitive proposals translating client requirements and evaluation criteria into differentiated, win-worthy architectures
- Write, own, and refine technical volumes and approach sections, ensuring clarity, compliance, and compelling storytelling throughout
- Participate in color reviews, orals preparation, and live presentations to government or commercial clients
- Collaborate with capture managers and BD lead to shape solution strategy during RFI response, pre-RFP engagement, and competitive positioning
- Translate technical complexity into language that resonates with non-technical evaluators and decision-makers
Architecture & Delivery
- Design end-to-end solution architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned to client environments and constraints
- Build and maintain architectural frameworks, reference architectures, and reusable solution components that accelerate future proposals
- Engage directly with client stakeholders to understand mission needs, technical environments, and acquisition priorities
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend where they create genuine competitive advantage
Team & Thought Leadership
- Mentor engineers and junior architects, raising the technical quality bar across the team
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, lessons learned, and proposal best practices
- Help grow our reputation through white papers, conference talks, or client workshops when relevant
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical writing within technology?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: 5+ years in solution architecture, software engineering, systems integration, or a related discipline with demonstrated involvement in proposal or business development activities
- Proposal Chops: Hands-on experience writing technical proposal sections, developing solution concepts in response to solicitations, or supporting capture efforts
- Cloud Fluency: Working proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and practical knowledge of cloud-native design patterns
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. This means you can explain a complex architecture to a CTO and a contracting officer with equal effectiveness
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work across functional teams that include BD, engineering, program management, subject matter experts in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal proposals
- Cloud certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF, SABSA, or similar)
