Job description

This is a varied and evolving role offering the opportunity to gain experience across design, manufacturing and machine build activities within a supportive engineering team. The position has been created with flexibility in mind and will develop around the successful candidate’s strengths and ambitions, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their skillset and grow their career. You will be:

Producing basic 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks drawings for workshop-manufactured components such as guards, brackets, chutes and funnels. Supporting the build, setup and testing of packaging machinery, including assisting with customer demonstrations. Carrying out light machining activities, including basic milling and turning work. Coordinating day-to-day workshop activities, including managing consumables and liaising with contractors. Working closely with the wider engineering team to develop practical solutions and support ongoing projects. The Candidate

Requirements

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Design Engineer with a genuine interest in mechanical engineering and a desire to build a long-term career within a growing business. The successful candidate will be proactive, willing to take ownership of their work, and keen to learn and develop as the role evolves:

Experience using 2D AutoCAD, with an interest in developing your design skills further. Alternatively, a background in mechanical engineering, machining, welding or fabrication, with a desire to move into a more design-focused position. A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved in a variety of engineering and workshop activities. The ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently when required. A genuine interest in engineering, machinery and how things work, with a desire to grow alongside the business.
