Job description

We’re looking for a skilled, motivated front-end developer to join our frontend-team and share ownership of our desktop applications. You won’t just fill a seat - you’ll help set the standard, shape UX decisions, and make sure our software doesn’t only work technically, but truly works well for the people using it.

You’ll be involved end to end: from architecture to the details users feel every day.

What you’ll do

  • Own the front-end architecture and development of our desktop applications, built in Vue.js.
  • Build scalable, reusable components and keep the codebase clean and maintainable.
  • Analyse how people use our software and turn that into concrete UX and workflow improvements.
  • Work closely with our backend developers (Python) and product owner to ship robust, well-designed solutions.

Requirements

Do you have experience in iOS?, * HBO/WO level of thinking and working.

  • 3+ years building reactive front-ends in Vue.js or React, and running complex projects independently.
  • 3+ years developing desktop or mobile apps (Tauri, Electron, iOS or Android).
  • Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and modern tooling such as Vite or Webpack.

Nice-to-haves:

  • A test-driven mindset and experience with Vitest, Jest, or Cypress.
  • A real passion for UI/UX - turning design choices into an effortless user experience.
  • Experience with hardware/software combinations (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and the like).
  • Some Python, to collaborate with the backend and help the team go full-stack.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Real ownership of our applications and a direct say in how they evolve.
  • Room to grow professionally in a dynamic, innovative company.
  • Hands-on work with cutting-edge electron microscopy technology.
  • A small, passionate team genuinely excited about advancing microscopy.

About the company

Semplor is a leading innovator in tabletop Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs). Our mission is simple but ambitious: make nanoscale imaging and analysis accessible to anyone, anywhere - from university labs to the factory floor. We build our own desktop software to control our NANOS instruments, analyse images, and manage all project you run on the SEM. The software team is small but growing (currently six people), multidisciplinary, and direct - short lines of communication and a high degree of ownership.
