Job description

Seeking a Software Engineer (Backend) to join Best Buy’’s Product Domain team. The team follows Extreme Programming (XP) practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, Agile methodologies, and JVM-based technologies. Engineers contribute across development, testing, deployment, and support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Strong expertise in Java/Groovy or other JVM-based languages
  • Hands-on experience with TDD
  • Comfortable with Pair Programming
  • Backend service development experience
  • REST APIs, HTTP, JSON
  • Spring Framework

Preferred Skills

  • Kafka / RabbitMQ
  • Cassandra, Redis, or other NoSQL databases
  • Linux/Bash scripting
  • Apache, Tomcat, Memcache, open-source technologies
  • React or other SPA frameworks
  • GraphQL
  • BigQuery
