Job description

  • Receive and process requests for non-emergency patient transports
  • Schedule local and long-distance transports to maximize available resources
  • Maintain transport logs and collect patient demographic, medical, and insurance information
  • Monitor ambulance status and coordinate transport activity
  • Verify insurance information and review patient care reports for documentation compliance
  • Track dispatch activity using designated software and spreadsheets
  • Perform quality assurance activities for NET calls in accordance with Medicare requirements
  • Coordinate with EMS supervisors and outside transport providers as needed
  • Assist with reports and data collection for advisory groups and stakeholders
  • Participate in public health emergency response activities when needed
  • Perform other duties and cross-training assignments as required

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Galveston County Health District is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented part-time EMS NET Dispatcher to support our Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA) team. In this role, you will coordinate and schedule non-emergency patient transports, maintain accurate records, verify insurance information, and ensure timely communication between hospitals, nursing facilities, and EMS personnel. This position is described in the attached job description., * High school diploma or equivalent required

  • One year of experience related to patient care or non-emergency dispatching preferred, preferred
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust schedules in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
  • Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must meet immunization, background check, and drug/alcohol screening requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners
