Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, engineering direction, and AI-driven transformation.

This is not a traditional “strategy-only” CTO role. We need someone deeply embedded in the business who can both define and execute how technology-especially AI-transforms how we operate, build, and scale.

You will act as the technical leader responsible for improving engineering velocity, embedding AI into workflows and products, optimising delivery pipelines, and ensuring technology directly drives business performance.

This role shares strong overlap with a Forward Deployed AI Engineering mindset, but with broader ownership across architecture, engineering leadership, and long-term technical strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Audit and deeply understand how the company operates across engineering, product, and operations
• Define and lead the technical vision and architecture of the organisation
• Identify where AI and automation create the highest leverage across the business
• Drive the integration of AI into internal workflows, engineering processes, and customer-facing products
• Automate and optimise repetitive operational and engineering work at scale
• Improve software delivery pipelines, CI/CD processes, and deployment efficiency
• Lead improvements in development speed, code quality, and system reliability
• Oversee system architecture across backend, frontend, mobile, and infrastructure
• Work closely with product, operations, and leadership to translate business needs into technical execution
• Build and scale engineering processes that enable rapid delivery without sacrificing quality
• Champion AI-assisted development and automation across teams
• Ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business growth
• Continuously identify bottlenecks in engineering and operations and eliminate them through technology
• Support integration of APIs, third-party platforms, and AI systems across the organisation

Do you have experience in Leadership?, * Strong ability to understand business operations and translate them into technical strategy and execution

• Deep experience in software engineering and system design
• Strong understanding of AI systems, LLMs, automation, and AI-driven workflows
• Proven ability to improve engineering velocity and operational efficiency
• Strong leadership skills with ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams
• Hands-on mindset - willing to build, prototype, and implement where needed
• Strong systems thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-change environments

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• MERN stack expertise:
• MongoDB
• Express.js
• React
• Node.js
• Experience designing and scaling backend and distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of APIs, integrations, and system architecture
• Experience with AI tools, LLMs, agents, copilots, or automation systems
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Docker and modern deployment workflows
• Experience improving engineering tooling, observability, and system reliability
• Flutter or mobile development experience is beneficial but not required
