Job description
We are looking for a student assistant to support the development of a stand-alone software open-source tool for the planning and optimization of borehole heat exchangers (BHEs). The work includes full-stack development of an application with GUI, backend connection, data handling, visualization, reporting, and a small database. The project is carried out with industrial feedback and offers the opportunity to contribute to an end-to-end software solution with practical relevance.
Your responsibilities include:
- Development of a stand-alone software tool for BHE planning and optimization
- Frontend / GUI development
- Integration and processing of different data types and formats, including GIS data
- Connection to backend components
- Visualization and reporting of results
- Implementation of a small parameter and project database
- Testing, documentation, and further development of the application
Requirements
- Master’s student in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field
- Strong programming skills and practical experience in software development
- Experience in full-stack or application development, ideally including frontend and backend integration
- Experience with GUI / frontend development and the design of usable, robust interfaces
- Experience with software engineering practices such as version control, testing, and documentation
- Interest or experience in working with geospatial data processing is a plus
- Structured, independent, and reliable way of working
- Interest in practical software development in a project setting
