What is Pyladies Vienna all about?
Pyladies is an international movement that aims to encourage more women to get into IT. There are many local chapters and the organization is still growing.
Even though Vienna and Austria are modern there is still a big difference in numbers between female and male persons involved in the IT - sector. In general the percentage of women there is between 10% and 15% depending on the field. The main goal of PyLadies Vienna is to increase this ratio.
Also, since computers become more and more part of our daily life it’s hard for some to keep track of everything - so they are trying to build up digital literacy so everyone can use a computer on a basic level.
How to start a chapter in your hometown?
For the PyLadies Vienna one major point was meetup.com. They inherited a group which was not active at all and needed to build on that. Starting with topic oriented sessions on weekends it soon became clear that not many advanced coders joined the meetup. So, they went back to junior related topics which ultimately led them to launch their beginners course.
But this was just their approach. There are many ways to set up your Chapter but initially it’s essential to get in touch with likeminded people and get organized. Use some of the many social channels that are available nowadays like meetup, twitter, discord etc. to get started. You also get your own website domain provided from the parent organization PyLadies if you fit their requirements and agree to the code of conduct.
Why Python?
Simple Answer: It’s easy and universal. Nevertheless it’s a good language to learn concepts that are valid for many others like conditions, loops, oop etc. Also the syntax of python is very similar to human words - if you understand english you understand almost everything written in Python.
As many of the attendees of the Pyladies Vienna group are complete beginners with very little knowledge of developing this fits perfectly into their concept.

How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
