AJ Aitken

AJ Aitken is Senior Vice President of Infrastructure & Platform Engineering at Datavant, the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. He leads an organization spanning cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, data and machine learning platforms, enterprise engineering, and AI enablement. His teams build the secure, resilient foundations behind Datavant's platform and lead major infrastructure and organizational transformation initiatives across the company. AJ has spent his career at the intersection of healthcare and technology. Before Datavant, he spent 14 years at Apixio, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering and helping scale the technology behind its AI-powered healthcare analytics platform. Earlier in his career, he led healthcare IT initiatives at TSPi and worked in medical imaging at Topcon Medical Systems. An operator at heart, AJ focuses on building platforms and teams that balance reliability, security, and regulatory rigor with the speed needed to innovate. He is particularly interested in how AI is transforming healthcare, infrastructure, and the way engineering organizations work. AJ grew up in Australia, holds a degree from Griffith University, and is based in San Diego.
