John Komarnicki

John Komarnicki is the National Executive Advisor at Code & Coffee, one of North America's largest volunteer-led developer communities spanning 40+ cities and 80,000+ developers. He helps engineers, technical leaders, and organizations accelerate learning by connecting developer communities with emerging technologies across AI, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and software engineering. John earned his M.S. in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data from DePaul University. His engineering background spans AI and cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, platform, and engineering leadership, with experience leading teams responsible for large-scale production infrastructure. Based in San Francisco, John actively engages with the AI ecosystem through engineering conferences, open-source communities, startups, and developer events. His work focuses on translating emerging technologies including agentic AI, open-weight models, AI infrastructure, and developer tooling into practical insights that engineers and engineering organizations can apply to accelerate innovation.
