Kit Colbert

Kit Colbert is Platform CTO for Invisible Technologies, where he builds core platform modules and infrastructure for AI training and enterprise AI solutions. Prior to this, he served as CTO at VMware, driving technical strategy, innovation, and platform engineering, and helping lead the company’s transformation to a SaaS and subscription model. At VMware, Kit led key initiatives including the evolution of vSphere (Project Pacific and Project Monterey), the launch of VMware Cloud on Dell EMC, and the creation of the Cloud-Native Apps (Tanzu) business. He also contributed to major product lines like Workspace ONE and vRealize Operations, and foundational technologies such as vMotion and Storage vMotion. He is also a technology advisor and investor focused on early-stage startups, and today continues to solve complex technical challenges while driving innovation in AI and enterprise technology.
