Monica Sarbu is the founder and CEO of Xata, an agent-native Postgres platform built for the AI era. As AI agents become first-class users of data infrastructure, Xata enables teams to safely branch production databases in seconds, give every workflow its own isolated Postgres environment, and scale without multiplying cost or risk. Xata is backed by Index Ventures and prominent technology founders including the creators of Elastic, Confluent, Vercel, and Netlify. Before Xata, Monica founded Packetbeat, an open-source monitoring solution acquired by Elastic in 2015. It evolved into Elastic Beats, one of the most widely adopted observability ecosystems in the world. She also founded [Tupu.io](http://tupu.io/), a nonprofit providing free mentorship for underrepresented people entering tech. When not rethinking databases, she enjoys traveling and exploring the world with her daughter.
