Rohit de Souza is the CEO of MariaDB, where he is currently spearheading the company’s transformation from the world’s 3rd largest modern relational database into the premier AI-Ready Operational Platform built for the Agentic Enterprise. A 25-year veteran of the technology sector, Rohit specializes in driving transformation for global giants and agile ventures alike. His deep domain expertise in database technology is anchored by his previous tenure as CEO of Actian Corporation, which he led through a return to profitability and a successful acquisition by HCL Technologies. Rohit’s distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at Micro Focus, OpenText, Oracle, HP, and Siebel. He holds dual master’s degrees in engineering from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Madras University.
