Will Bryk is the Co-Founder and CEO of Exa, an applied AI research lab organizing human knowledge, starting with the web. Exa’s full-stack web search engine built from the ground up for AI agents. A Harvard graduate in Computer Science and Physics and former software engineer at Cresta, Will co-founded Exa in 2021 on a thesis that was contrarian at the time: AI agents would one day search the web more than humans. That future has arrived, and Exa built the infrastructure for it, operating its own index, ranking algorithms, and vector database rather than wrapping existing search APIs. Today, thousands of companies, including Cursor, Cognition, Notion, Vercel, and HubSpot, rely on Exa to power retrieval for AI applications, with custom indexes spanning 1B+ people, 50M+ companies, and 100M+ research papers. In May 2026, Exa raised a $250M Series C led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $2.2 billion valuation, joining earlier backers Benchmark and Y Combinator. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Zurich and Singapore.
