The Electrochemical Energy Storage Department combines material development, cell and stack design, and system testing for the development and validation of electrochemical systems such as fuel cells and bipolar flow and non-flow batteries. An interdisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, and materials scientists works together to optimize stack-based systems with a focus on efficiency, power density, service life, and cost-effectiveness. What you will do * Research into sealing concepts and standards * Design and development of seals for electrochemical cells/stacks * CAD design of parts for electrochemical cells and stacks * FEM simulation to investigate seal compression * Manufacture of seals on a CNC dispenser and subsequent characterization
