Job description
- Research and develop statistical and machine learning models serving a wide range of features for our users.
- Assist the team in improving the stability and performance of our core data processes and algorithms as we grow.
- Support the full model lifecycle, from research and implementation to deployment and monitoring in a production environment.
- Work closely with senior engineers and product teams to implement new data solutions and learn about technical architecture.
- Clearly and concisely document and communicate insights from your research to facilitate collaboration with other teams and stakeholders;
- Have an important role in the delivery of Data R&D projects from ideation to product implementation.
About our team
The Data organisation is a team within our wider Lighthouse engineering team. Its mission is to bring innovative data solutions to everyone who needs it by building & optimising data processes, enabling product development and creating data driven culture.
The team works in close collaboration with our Product team, as well as a highly talented group of software engineers, devops engineers, and project managers to drive initiatives forward. We have offices in Ghent and Brussels, and as an engineer, you'll find most of your peers there (unless they're working from home or remote).
Today we process billions of data points and +100TB of data on a daily basis, containing hotels' pricing information, search data, hotel bookings, etc. All of that using modern technologies. Being a growth company enables us to regularly attract new and interesting datasets, which can unlock new product directions.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Tableau?, * A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Solid foundational programming skills in Python and good relational modeling skills in SQL.
- A strong grasp of fundamental statistics and machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with software engineering standards (e.g., version control, basic testing).
- Ability to learn fast and pull clear insights from data.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English.

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
- Familiarity with data processing or workflow tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
- Experience in applying machine learning solutions to real-world business problems.
