Job description
Odido is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Linux engineer to strengthen the current Linux/Unix team in executing projects and various operational activities.
The Linux team is continuously improving the current infrastructure landscape by automation and the use of new technologies. Besides ensuring excellent operations your activities will support the team in building and expanding (new) systems and platforms, enhancing existing infrastructure, the infra delivery to our internal customers, and carrying out life cycle management of systems and software.

Requirements
Odido is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Linux engineer to strengthen the current Linux/Unix team in executing projects and various operational activities., Some things you can't learn at university, but you possess them by nature. You are empathic, decisive, authentic, people-focused, and honest. You lead by empowering others, communicate clearly, and know how to balance strategic vision with operational needs. You create structure, bring energy, and foster an inclusive, secure work environment.
- Experience: 5-7 years of practical experience as a Linux administrator/engineer.
- Language Skills: Proficient in English; Dutch is a plus.
- Linux Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Linux (Debian, Red Hat, and/or derivatives).
- Scripting Skills: Good knowledge of shell scripting (e.g., Bash, PHP, Ruby, Python, GoLang).
- Configuration Management: Hands-on experience with Puppet, CI/CD, CMDB, and Git.
- Services: Familiarity with services such as Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elastic Stack.
- Security: Understanding of security protocols (Kerberos, LDAP, Radius).
- Container Technologies: Good working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Networking: General understanding of networking (firewalls, load balancers, routing).
- Bonus Skills: Experience with cloud products (e.g., Azure, AWS) and SAN storage platforms/configurations.
