You and your job

We're building GenAI solutions that are as impactful for our customers as they are exciting for us to create - and we need your help. As a Junior GenAI Engineer, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team with end-to-end ownership of your work: from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.

You'll design and deploy scalable GenAI systems, automate relentlessly across the development lifecycle and collaborate across teams to drive innovation. You'll apply your technical expertise to ensure performance, reliability and real-world impact.

Practical examples

• You are part of an empowered self-performing team. Your voice is heard and you contribute directly to the product, or service, your squad is responsible for.
• Design and build responsible and cost effective GenAI solutions for up to 9,5 million Rabobank customers.
• Convert a use-case specific code base to re-usable building blocks used by 100+ tech teams.
• Pair-program with members of your squad and across other Squads within Rabobank to solve critical or complex problems., * Implementation of GenAI solutions using Azure services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Azure Functions).
• Build and maintain Python-based microservices and automation tools to support GenAI workflows and infrastructure provisioning.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and Engineers to translate business requirements (user stories).
• Participate in the development of AI workflows including prompt chaining, memory management, and agent orchestration.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly within cross-functional teams.
• Support integration of GenAI capabilities into existing platforms and services.

• Continuously learning of the engineering practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Stay up to date with emerging GenAI technologies and cloud-native patterns.
• Learn and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning., * Learn and Implement scalable GenAI solutions using Azure services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Azure Functions, API gateway).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for GenAI applications using tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kong and Bicep.

• Learning and Adaptability mindset.
• Good communication skills - able to simplify complex ideas and build trust across teams., * 0-2 years of experience in technical roles (DevOps, Software Engineering, ML Engineering, or Data Science) or relevant internships/projects.
• Exposure to AI workloads (preferably Generative AI or agentic systems) through academic projects, personal work, or internships.
• Basic understanding of Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, or AWS/GCP) and willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep).
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and simple automation tasks.
• Interest in agentic frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) and AI workflow concepts.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and curiosity about orchestration tools (AKS/Kubernetes).
• Basic knowledge of APIs and integration principles.
• Awareness of security and monitoring fundamentals in cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to work effectively in Agile teams (SCRUM or Kanban).

• Gross monthly salary between €3,869 and €5,526 (scale 08)
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance

• EUR 1,400 development budget per year
