Job description

Leisure and Environmental Services are responsible for the ongoing management of council owned assets such as open spaces, parks, commons and green spaces. They work with contractors to ensure that these assets are maintained to high standards, whilst protecting and enhancing the quality of the Council's green spaces for the enjoyment of the community. This role will support the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance project, the primary responsibility will be to capture leisure sites and asset data in a digital and spatial format to improve efficiency and overall management of these sites. The role will be based within the GIS team but working in close collaboration with the Leisure team to ensure data is captured, managed and maintained to high standards and best practice. In addition, you will also support map production for the project and engage with the Leisure team to ensure all priorities and project requirements are met.

Requirements

Ability to capture data accurately at all times using predefined procedures and processes when required.

Ability to follow, develop and implement new processes and procedures.

Knowledge and understanding of databases, data quality issues and ability to quality check and validate data.

Ability to apply cartographic theory and principles to produce accurate maps for publication.
