Job description
- You will work within the Data Engineering team and technically lead them by working with other leads and Product Owner and support existing application as well as design and build new. You will be part of an agile team, take on complex problems and design and code.
- You are expected to participate in the technical innovation within your product area and Support 'issue resolution' and improve processing performance and ensure the use of SQL, PL/SQL, Control-M reduces lead time to delivery and aligns to overall Group strategic direction so that cross-functional development is usable.
- The role is responsible to undertake activities on system level design and development of the code, testing and deployment as well as support the production processing.
- Be involved in actual implementation of solutions, performing impact assessments, performance tuning, testing and deployments throughout the delivery cycle. Utilize the technical skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these from time to time according to demand.
- Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service's direction.
- Ensure the service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered. Actively participate in and drive the mandatory exercises from time to time on resilience, recovery and service management. Support on-call and work in Shifts as per the agreed plans when required.
- Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement. Also should be well aware of the various code scanning findings and provide meaningful remediation solutions.
- Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Hands-on Experience in PL-SQL Unix, Shell Scripting, Control M or any batch scheduling tool.
- Preferred technology skills - PL\SQL, Oracle Data base performance tuning.
- Ability to work independently on specialized assignments within the context of project deliverables
- Take ownership of providing solutions and tools that iteratively increase engineering efficiencies.
- Design should help embed standard processes, systems and operational models into the BAU approach for end-to-end execution of Data Pipelines
- Excellent communication skills & team player
