Job description
We're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing IT Operations team. This is a key technical role responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the organisation's entire IT infrastructure, ensuring performance, stability and security across all systems.
You'll play an active part in infrastructure project delivery, technical support, and continuous improvement, working closely with our hosting partners, 2nd line support teams and Solutions Architect within an ITIL-driven environment., * Manage and support Microsoft Windows Server platforms (2016 & 2022), Exchange (on-premise and cloud), Active Directory and Group Policy
- Oversee SQL databases, EMC SAN storage, backup, archive and virtualisation (VMWare)
- Support Citrix XenDesktop, Linux, secure printing and desktop infrastructure including HP Thin Clients and gold builds
- Administer SCCM and cloud technologies within Microsoft Azure and AWS (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online Hybrid)
- Maintain and improve voice and data networks (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
- Support Disaster Recovery testing, patching, deployments, upgrades and migrations
- Collaborate with stakeholders and service providers to ensure high availability and performance of all IT systems
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24x7 infrastructure support (as required)
Requirements
We're looking for someone with strong hands-on infrastructure experience, ideally from a complex, multi-site environment. You'll be proactive, analytical, and able to balance day-to-day support with project delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Solid experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Exchange (on-premise & O365)
- Proficiency with VMware, Citrix, and EMC SAN storage
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
- Understanding of networking principles (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
- Familiarity with SCCM, Linux, and secure printing solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ITIL best practice frameworks
