Job description

  • Conduct advanced research in deep learning and AI methods, with applications across complex time-series and high-volume datasets
  • Explore new model architectures, training frameworks, and optimisation strategies to improve predictive performance
  • Translate techniques from other domains - such as robotics, audio, video, chemistry, or biology - into novel approaches for financial data
  • Collaborate with engineers, hardware specialists, and fellow researchers to move ideas from theory to deployment in production systems
  • Leverage large-scale compute resources and high-density GPU clusters to push forward training efficiency and scalability
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the firm's "foundation models for markets", helping refine both short- and long-term research directions

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in deep learning research, gained in academia or industry, across fields such as robotics, physics, biology, chemistry, video, or audio
  • Strong technical engineering skills, ideally including one or more of: GPU kernel development, low-level PyTorch or JAX, C++ programming, HPC systems, or FPGA/ASIC design
  • PhD or advanced research background with publications at major conferences (ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR) is highly valued, though not essential depending on experience
  • Degree(s) from a leading computer science, mathematics, or engineering institution (top-tier universities are strongly preferred)
  • Interest in large-scale model development; exposure to LLMs is useful but not required
  • Curiosity, persistence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, low-bureaucracy research setting
  • (Preferred) Track record of applying research methods across different domains or transferring techniques into new contexts
