Job description
We are seeking a Technical Documentation Editor to join our Technical Department at our Steeton Head Office. This role is ideal for someone who has an eye for detail, enjoys working with technical material, and can ensure that documentation is accurate, clear, and visually engaging., To support the Technical Manager in producing, editing, and maintaining a range of technical documentation, including training manuals, 3D animations, and interactive training guides ensuring they are accurate, professional, and up to date., * Documentation Management - Take ownership of existing technical documentation, ensuring it is kept current and compliant with documentation management procedures. Maintain accurate version control and logs.
- Content Editing & Formatting - Work with provided content to produce high-quality, well-formatted documents in line with company templates and style guidelines.
- Collaboration & Support - Work closely with the Technical Manager to establish priorities and meet agreed lead times. Support internal company projects as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with internal teams and subject matter experts to ensure documentation and resources are correct, fit for purpose, and meet the needs of end users.
- Quality & Accuracy - Check and edit materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency before release., Our Operations teams play an important role in keeping everything moving so that our customers receive outstanding service. With more than 1.5 million components in our logistics supply chain our Operations team are able to track the location of every component and know in real time what components our engineers have used. Whether a stairlift installation takes place in Manchester or Milan replacement parts are despatched, often on the same day, to ensure all our customers' needs can be met. Acorn's Global fleet consists of around 600 vehicles which are the workhorses of our organisation and it is vital they are maintained and serviced to a high standard. Opportunities within Operations include team leader, logistics co-ordinator, fleet administration and heavy goods vehicle driver.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Competent IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, but not essential).
- Familiarity with graphic, layout, or publishing tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent).
- Experience working with 3D animations or interactive training materials.
- Some technical knowledge of the company's products (training will be provided)
Benefits & conditions
Salary: £30,000 Per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm
