• Defining strategies, patterns, standards and reference architectures for one or more of the domains.
• Socialize Application Architecture strategies, standards, patterns and reference architectures with the rest of the Bank.
• Lead the design of various modern tools that are owned by Application Architecture.
• Understanding requirements from IT & Engineering teams and translate them into stories.
• Supporting the HSBC governance processes to deliver the tools and applications into production.
• Lead Architecture governance and adopt and advocate strategic Architecture and design patterns within the project or programmes to be implemented.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Solution Architect delivering solution design and architectures for enterprise applications.
• Experience in writing patterns, standards and reference architectures for Application Architecture domains.
• 12+ years of experience in professional software engineering.
• Expert understanding in Java and design patterns as well the Spring framework and associated projects.
• Ability to work well with diverse teams across geographies.
• Must have experience with design, development & integration experience on cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, GCP) in a continuous delivery environment.
• Experience in reviewing technical decisions and articulate pros/cons of technology options based on personal experience, industry knowledge, and best practice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to successfully articulate technology concepts to both business and technology audiences
• Expert level experience with REST APIs and designing APIs using Swagger/OAS.
• Hands-on experience in implementing API Security and Access control (SPNEGO, OAuth, SAML, SSL) etc.
• Experience in Developer Process Automation (CI/CD & Code Management) like tuning and utilizing tools, such as, Jenkins, GitHub, Docker etc.
• Experience in the design of cloud native applications.
