Job description
As a Systems Engineer, you will design, build, and support secure end-to-end mobility and communication solutions for customer and internal projects. You'll work on a mix of infrastructure, cloud, and automation technologies, supporting the full lifecycle from deployment to Level 3 support. Typical duties include:
- Installing, configuring, and administering Linux-based infrastructure (Ubuntu/RHEL) and virtualised environments (vSphere, vCenter).
- Writing Ansible playbooks and using IaC tools to automate deployment of infrastructure and cloud services.
- Managing secure AWS cloud environments and supporting cross domain solutions.
- Creating and maintaining system architecture documentation and ensuring environments meet CIS security standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues in collaboration with support teams.
- Supporting and maintaining infrastructure in secure and air-gapped environments.
- Researching and integrating new technologies to enhance system performance and security.
Requirements
Do you have experience in vSphere?, * Advanced Linux system administration with practical experience in scripting (e.g. Bash, Python) and automation using Ansible.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP), PKI/certificate management, and virtualisation (VMware).
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerised environments (Docker).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) and version control systems.
- Working knowledge of cross domain solutions and operating within secure, air-gapped environments.
- Solid grasp of CI/CD principles and infrastructure as code in secure environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with a customer-focused mindset., * 2-5+ years' experience in a Linux or Systems Engineering role.
- Be a British Citizen; and
- Hold or be eligible for NSV - DV (please see the gov.uk for guidance)
