Job description
HDCS is a small, friendly IT support firm based in the Vale of Glamorgan. We provide ad-hoc IT support to:
- Members of the public
- Small businesses
- A number of medium-sized organisations
Our work is varied and hands-on - from repairing laptops and setting up networks to assisting customers in our Cowbridge office.
The Role
We're looking for a motivated Graduate Junior IT Technician to join our team. You'll work alongside our Senior Technician and Company Director, providing hardware and software support both in-person and remotely.
Typical duties include:
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues (desktops, laptops, mobile devices)
- Setting up and maintaining networking equipment
- Responding to customer requests via email, phone, and walk-ins
- Attending customer call-outs across the Vale of Glamorgan and surrounding areas
- Assisting with installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting tasks
You'll be encouraged to take initiative, manage your own workload, and grow your technical skills with support from the team.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Technical support?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related subject
- Full UK Driving Licence and daily access to a private vehicle
- (You'll be required to visit customers on-site; company vehicles are not provided)
- Passion for IT and technology
- Self-motivated with strong initiative
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous IT support or technical experience (paid, voluntary, or personal)
- Hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring PCs, Macs, networks, mobile devices, and printers, * Bachelor's (required), * IT support: 1 year (preferred)
