The Operation Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the organisation's IT infrastructure. This position involves providing technical support, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and ensuring seamless operation of various systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a vehicle service-oriented mindset, enabling them to effectively assist users with their IT needs., * Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, including Windows.
- Troubleshoot software issues and perform software installations, updates, and configurations.
- Assist with computer networking tasks, including VPN setup and firewall configurations.
- Offer help desk support to users, addressing queries related to IT services and systems.
- Maintain and manage computer hardware, ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally.
- Utilise tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira for ticket management and tracking user requests.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues related to LAN environments.
- Document troubleshooting processes and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain effective communication with users to provide updates on their support requests.
- Familiarity with vehicle service and maintenance processes.
- Ability to apply IT knowledge to support vehicle service-oriented tasks or systems.
- Vehicle Telematics info, Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting telematics systems in vehicles.
Requirements
Software, English, Macos, Customer Service, Operating Systems, Windows, It Support, Higher Education, * Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles is essential.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and protocols is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of software troubleshooting techniques across various operating systems (Windows, macOS, ).
- Experience with customer service in a technical environment is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role.
