Our client is developing a next-generation adaptive intelligence platform designed for high-stakes operational environments. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect and deliver core systems at the heart of a first-of-its-kind capability.
You'll be working with cutting-edge concepts in real-time data processing, multimodal ingestion, and adaptive knowledge representation, ensuring delivery against mission-critical requirements., As a Lead Engineer - Mission Systems, you'll architect and implement core infrastructure, working hands-on with pipelines, services, and data models. You'll own key technical decisions early and ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and operationally robust. Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver infrastructure for a high-performance adaptive intelligence platform.
- Build scalable, real-time multimodal data pipelines.
- Design systems for dynamic knowledge representation and reasoning.
- Develop composable services for cloud, edge, and on-prem deployments.
- Collaborate with domain experts and users to align design with operational realities.
- Lead technical design and decision-making while remaining hands-on in delivery.
- Ensure resilience, security, and maintainability under demanding conditions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, balancing rapid iteration with engineering rigour.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex distributed systems or mission/safety-critical infrastructure.
- Strong systems-level programming skills (Python, Rust, Go or similar).
- Background in building platforms handling diverse data types (text, geospatial, sensor, temporal).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and deployments across cloud/edge/air-gapped contexts.
- Comfortable making early architectural decisions and working autonomously.
- Collaborative mindset; experience working across AI, product, and mission domains.
- Growth-oriented engineer who thrives in ambiguity.
