Job description
We're looking for a technically curious and client-oriented System Analyst to help drive performance capability across key systems for a long-standing financial services client. This role offers a dynamic environment where you'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure system reliability, performance tracking, and technical support across diverse platforms. The role is based in Milton Keynes with ad hoc travel (1-2 times per month)., * Monitor and report on system performance across platforms including Linux, Windows, and Mainframe environments.
- Serve as a key contact for client interactions, helping to resolve issues and identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Contribute to system availability and reliability through incident response, compliance activities, and operational enhancements.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation such as network diagrams and configuration records.
- Support the evaluation of hardware/software requests with a focus on performance and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support the delivery of system-related updates and initiatives.
- Participate in occasional client site visits (1-2 times per month).
Requirements
- Solid technical foundation in IT, with exposure to systems administration or software support.
- Awareness of system performance metrics and capacity planning concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in working with stakeholders.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies and environments.
Desirable (but Not Essential)
- Familiarity with infrastructure principles and system architecture.
- Exposure to financial or banking systems.
- Awareness of ClearPath or other mission-critical systems.
