Job description

We're seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to refine and deliver a multi-year technology strategy and transformation roadmap. Reporting to the COO, this is a key leadership position responsible for shaping technical architecture, leading major change initiatives, and ensuring technology remains a true enabler of business performance.

The successful candidate will lead a capable IT function through a phase of optimisation and innovation - including developing data maturity, enhancing automation, and leveraging AI and cloud technologies to support continued growth., * Define and deliver the organisation's technology strategy and target operating model.

  • Develop and optimise the group's technical architecture, ensuring efficiency and alignment across platforms, infrastructure, and data solutions.
  • Lead the technology elements of a complex, strategic change portfolio.
  • Strengthen governance, cybersecurity, and risk management frameworks.
  • Build metrics and KPIs that clearly demonstrate service performance and business value.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and outsourcing strategies for optimal service and cost outcomes.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CTO or senior technology leader within the London or Lloyd's insurance market.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability and experience leading complex, multi-platform environments.
  • Strong data, cloud, and infrastructure background, with experience modernising legacy systems and delivering measurable value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including board-level engagement.
  • Track record of building and motivating diverse, high-performing teams.
