Job description
We're recruiting a Network Engineer to join a world-leading provider of secure satellite and defence communications. This is a full-time, on-site Network Engineer position supporting critical Government and MoD networks across secure environments.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, and support of multi-vendor secure networks, with a strong focus on Juniper and Fortinet technologies. You'll work closely with project and systems engineering teams to ensure the secure delivery and ongoing performance of network solutions for UK Defence clients. Responsibilities:
- Configure, test and support secure networks using Juniper and Fortinet equipment.
- Deploy and maintain VPNs, routing policies, and firewalls across classified environments.
- Work with Systems Engineers to integrate new network components into live systems.
- Provide network diagnostics, root cause analysis and incident resolution.
- Support system upgrades, patching and compliance checks.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for all Network Engineer activities.
Requirements
- Active SC clearance or eligibility for DV clearance (British citizen, 10 years UK residency).
- Experience as a Network Engineer within a secure or Defence environment.
- Hands-on with Fortinet firewalls and Juniper routers/switches.
- Knowledge of VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching and firewall configuration.
- Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, Network+, or Fortinet NSE4.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware or Azure networking is beneficial.
