Design Engineer

Job Title: Design Engineer Location: Hertfordshire Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join a well-established company based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and technically minded engineer with lighting design experience to contribute to innovative projects across various sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop lighting products and components from concept through to production.

• Create detailed 3D and 2D CAD models and engineering drawings.

• Collaborate with production, procurement, and project teams to ensure designs meet performance, aesthetic, and cost requirements.

• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BoMs, and specifications.

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and product innovation initiatives.

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Mechanical Design, or Electrical Engineering.

• Proven experience in lighting design or similar product development.

• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
