Junior Design Engineer

Job Title: Junior Design Engineer Location: Peterborough Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

We are seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual early in their career who is looking to develop their design skills within a supportive engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating 3D models and 2D technical drawings using CAD software.

• Support senior engineers with product development, design updates, and engineering modifications.

• Help prepare documentation, bills of materials, and technical reports.

• Contribute to prototyping, testing, and project support activities.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and project teams.

• Ensure designs meet quality, performance, and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements:

• Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar preferred).

• Strong interest in engineering design and product development.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Eager to learn, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.
