Job description
The Senior Document Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing the documentation process to ensure all project and organizational documents are controlled, stored, and maintained efficiently and securely. This role involves supervising document control staff, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and supporting project teams with document-related requirements.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. Your team

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Oversee the daily activities of the document control team to ensure accurate document management
- Develop and implement document control procedures and best practices
- Manage the creation, revision, distribution, and archiving of project and corporate documents
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure document flow and traceability
- Maintain and administer document control systems, including electronic and physical filing systems
- Train and mentor junior document control staff
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure document integrity and compliance
- Support project reporting requirements by preparing document status reports and metrics
- Manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in document control, preferably in industries such as construction, oil & gas, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of document control standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency with document management software (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Documentum).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in training and supervising junior staff.
